How Different People React on Payday | Which One Are You?
I was reading some tweets a few days ago where different people were expressing how they feel on Payday. It was very funny and worrying at the same time. In some countries, people are paid bi-weekly or weekly while payday in some other countries is just once a month. I’ve experienced both. Payday means different things to different people. For many, payday brings happiness and relief while some others have migraine on paydays. We will look at how different people react once their money hit their account or when they collect their cheque.
At the end of this post, tell us which one you are or add your reaction in the comment section if not listed here.
If you are having difficulty keeping up with bills, it clearly shows it’s time you look for how to make extra income.

Payday, Different Reactions
1). You Get Annoyed Once You See The Amount On Your Pay Check
I remember when I worked as a cashier in a store standing for many hours a day at work. It was really tough for me because I wasn’t used to standing at a spot for a long period. I was always angry when ever I opened my pay slip. One will be wondering if this is all you get for all the stress you go through at work. This clearly shows that I hate the job but didn’t have much options at that time. I have also heard my friends flare up at how much they are paid at work. You always feel you deserve more?
Do you get annoyed when you receive your check on payday? Who can relate?
2). It’s Shopping Spree Time
This photo is so hilarious. Some people spend all their money and few days later, they want to sell any available property they own including their body parts 🤣 🤣 🤣. You know that urge to buy the latest clothing or unnecessary things you don’t even need will always come when your wallet is recovering from “dryness”. Before the end of the next week, you would be wondering where all your money has gone. It’s really not funny.
3.) You Pay For All The Drinks For Everyone
Do you take your friends out and pay for all their food and drinks once you get paid? You want every one to know that your are a hot sauce 🤑. Some people seem to get a certain feeling of approval and validation by showing off to friends that they are loaded. You tip at every restaurant you go to and tell the waiters to keep the change just because you always want to impress people and appear rich?
4.) When You Get Paid, Your Bills and Loans Promptly “Unpay” You
As the money flies in through one door, it also flies out through several windows. Bills are all over the place. Mortgage, credit card, car, and student loans will not let you be great. A Payday loan is the worst. I know for some people, it’s a life saver but please run away from payday loan. It’s a trap.
In this era of “Buy Today, Pay Later”, many folk’s bank accounts are never going to smile. Many of us are in this state. By the time you have finished paying for all these loans, you are left with nothing. The cycle just continues. It is time to search for how to increase your income.
Who can relate to this? What’s your reaction to this situation?
5.) You Avoid Everybody
Once it’s payday or end of the month, does your phone line mysteriously get switched off? Some people will borrow money from different friends and acquaintances pledging to pay back once they get paid. Once it’s payday, you avoid all their lenders like plague. Your hearts pounds away like a school band once you hear any knock on your door.
6.) Payday Is When You Get Strange Visitors
I have heard stories of people whom their third cousin’s wife’s younger sister would visit just at the time they get paid. There’s always this person that seems to monitor your bank account and plan their visit to your home around the time you get paid. And you being so generous, you don’t know how to say no to their financial requests. Run baby, run from such people 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️🏃♀️ 🏃♂️🏃♀️ 🏃♂️. Is this your dilemma?
7.) You’re the Smart One
You give every cent and kobo a job. You smartly allocate a certain percentage of your income to your emergency fund savings account, tax-free savings account, and retirement account before your pay check hits your bank account. You have marked a date or two dates on your calendar when you pay off all your bills every month. You even track your expenses by recording every amount you spend according to categories so you can track your spending habits and pattern. Your goal is to save and invest 40% of your income. I think your method is the way to go. I want to be like you when I grow up.
Tell us how you feel getting paid versus how you feel when the bills arrive. It would be awesome when you share this post on Facebook and watch how your friends react. Let the fun begin.
