It’s Time To Re-evaluate Your 2019 Goals | 6 Months Gone.
At the beginning of every year, many of us have a giant list of what we intend to achieve in the new year. Yeah, because we think we have 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 or 366 days. June is almost gone which means 6 months have gone by. How far have we gone with any of our written goals (If only you had yours written down)? It’s time to re-evaluate our 2019 goals. We have 6 more months to go. We can still achieve that goal or at least catch up with the lost time. Read to the end to see how we can get back on track and be in charge of our lives.

In December 2018, I wrote this article, “New Year Resolutions are Obsolete, Do This Instead”. Read it to get the full details of how you can structure your goals to help you achieve them instead of good old resolutions that no longer work for most of us.
One of my major goals this year is to learn the field of machine and deep learning enough to create great projects with my knowledge. Am I on track? I think so. How about my other goals? Some of them have taken the back seat especially my physical fitness because I spend less time exercising and more time working, writing code, blogging, etc. Some clothes are getting tighter 😥 😥 😥 . Okay, it is definitely time to reset my goals chart and exercise more 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
Let’s Catch Up With The Goals We Have Lagging Behind By Doing These:
1. Commit to #60DaysOfDoingSomething.
These hashtags can help us figure out how to get something done. #30DaysOfIntermittentFasting or #LaunchMyBusinessIn27Days (See the resources can help you achieve this hashtag by clicking here). I’m actually on #60DaysOfUdacity where I document my progress on Facebook for a Facebook Artificial Intelligence Scholarship Challenge with other 4999 scholars around the world. This keeps me in check and helps me stay on track with AI matters and projects. If saving money is your goal, you can start with saving $500 or #10, 000 monthly towards a major need you have. Maybe you need to get a job, you could try to #ApplyFor10JobsADay.
If you want to re-activate your love life, you could start #30DaysOfSendingHimorHerRomanticMessages or #40DaysofDoingSomethingGreatForHimorHer.
Remember how the #40DaysofDoingSomethingForHer 😃😃😃😃 restored a failing marriage in the movie “FireProof 2008”? Click here to watch the full movie. 40 days could do the magic, you know. Whatever this will solve for you, go for it and tell us how it worked out at the end of the year. We will be all ears.
2. Your Calendar is Your Best Friend
Throw those goals into a calendar. Break down the steps and decide how often you want to work on them. Will 1 hour a day, 5 hours a week, 500 words a day, #100 a day or running 1 mile every other day work for you? Think about it. Most projects or goals seem difficult to achieve but with a good work break down, you see how easy it may be when you go one step at a time while viewing them on your calendar and putting in the work.
3. Start Planning How To Celebrate When You Achieve The Goals by December
If we all make it to December 31, how are we going to celebrate that milestone you achieved? Yes, we have to revisit our goals chart to see how far we went at the end of the year. Plan for some event or something to reward yourself if you achieve your goals or at least if you get to a certain milestone. You could just buy yourself a large cone of ice cream 🍦 (just kidding) or a chilled bottle of something 🍾 (whatever quenches you thirst). You have to reward yourself for a job well done 🥂.
If we always complete our performance review at work, why don’t we extend the same review to our personal goals? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comment section below.
